KL Solo Traveller: 2-Day Itinerary

Solo traveller at Jalan Alor KL

This solo KL itinerary covers two full days of sights, food and nightlife. Every stop works well alone — no couples-only activities or group-minimum tours. Budget: RM150–300/day depending on accommodation and dining choices.

Day 1: Culture and Street Food

Morning

8:00 am — Coffee and breakfast at VCR in Pudu (RM14–30). Solo-friendly counter seating.

10:00 am — MRT to Pasar Seni. Walk Kwai Chai Hong street art (free, 20 min).

10:30 am — Central Market browse (1 hour).

Afternoon

12:00 pm — Lunch at Madras Lane hawkers in Chinatown (RM5–12). Yong tau foo and curry laksa.

1:30 pm — Walk to Merdeka Square. Free. Photo ops at Sultan Abdul Samad Building.

3:00 pm — Islamic Arts Museum (RM14). One of the best museums in KL. 90 minutes.

Evening

6:00 pm — Jalan Alor street food. Sit at a communal table — easy to chat with other travellers. Satay, grilled wings, char koay teow (RM20–35 total).

8:30 pm — Drinks at PS150 speakeasy in Chinatown (RM38–65). Great solo bar — sit at the counter.

Day 2: Batu Caves and Rooftop Bars

Morning

7:30 am — KTM Komuter to Batu Caves (RM2.60, 30 min from KL Sentral). Arrive early to avoid heat and crowds. 272 steps. 1.5 hours.

10:30 am — Train back. Nasi lemak at Village Park in Damansara Uptown (RM12–18).

Afternoon

1:00 pm — Cafe hop in Bangsar. PULP by Papa Palheta for pour-over (RM14).

3:00 pm — Petronas Towers Skybridge (RM80). Book the 3 pm slot for afternoon light.

Evening

5:30 pm — Golden hour at Heli Lounge Bar (RM40–80). Helipad rooftop — arrive before 6 pm for a spot.

8:00 pm — Dinner at Lot 10 Hutong (RM10–20). Yut Kee's roti babi or Soong Kee's beef noodles.

9:30 pm — Changkat Bukit Bintang bar strip for nightlife. Solo-friendly with mixed crowds of locals and travellers.
