KL Family Trip: 3-Day Itinerary With Kids

Family at KLCC Park in KL

This KL family itinerary balances kid-friendly attractions with enough food stops to keep adults happy. Every venue is accessible by Grab, and each day has an air-conditioned backup in case of rain or meltdowns.

Day 1: KLCC and Aquaria

Morning

9:30 am — Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge (RM80 adult, RM33 child). Book online in advance. 45-minute guided tour.

11:00 am — KLCC Park water playground — free. Kids can splash while parents rest. Bring swimwear and a change of clothes.

Afternoon

12:30 pm — Lunch at Madam Kwan's in Suria KLCC. Kid-friendly Malaysian food (RM20–45). Halal.

2:00 pm — Aquaria KLCC (RM69 adult, RM59 child). Underground aquarium with tunnel walkway. 90 minutes.

4:00 pm — Suria KLCC mall — Kinokuniya bookshop and Petrosains science centre (RM30, interactive exhibits for kids).

Evening

6:30 pm — Dinner at food court in Suria KLCC or walk to Jalan Alor (15 min Grab). Satay and grilled chicken wings are kid favourites.

8:00 pm — KLCC Park Lake Symphony fountain show (nightly 8 pm and 9 pm). Free.

Day 2: Batu Caves and KL Tower

Morning

8:30 am — Grab to Batu Caves (30 min from city centre). Free entry. 272 steps — manageable for kids 5+. Watch out for monkeys. Spend 1.5 hours.

Afternoon

11:30 am — Grab back to city. Lunch at Village Park Nasi Lemak, Damansara (RM12–18). Halal, kid-friendly portions.

1:30 pm — KL Tower observation deck (RM52 adult, RM31 child). Mini zoo at the base (RM15, small animals). 90 minutes total.

3:30 pm — Rest at hotel or visit KidZania in Curve Mall (RM58–89, role-play city for ages 4–14).

Evening

6:00 pm — Dinner at Lot 10 Hutong food court (air-conditioned hawker food, RM10–20). Walk around Bukit Bintang after.

Day 3: Chinatown and Central Market

Morning

9:00 am — Central Market. Kids can try batik painting (RM20) or browse craft stalls. 1 hour.

10:30 am — Walk to Kwai Chai Hong for street art photos (10 min walk, free).

Afternoon

12:00 pm — Lunch at Old China Cafe, Chinatown (RM15–35). Nyonya dishes, air-conditioned.

1:30 pm — National Mosque (free, robes provided) or Islamic Arts Museum (RM14 adult, kids free). Both are air-conditioned rainy-day options.

3:00 pm — Head to airport. Grab to KLIA (RM80–100, 1 hour) or KLIA Ekspres train from KL Sentral (RM55 adult, 28 min).
