About Rainbow Skywalk at the Top KOMTAR
The Rainbow Skywalk is a glass-floored walkway that juts out from the 65th floor of KOMTAR tower, 249 metres above street level. At night, the glass beneath your feet frames the gridded glow of George Town's streets, and looking outward you get views of the waterfront, the Strait of Malacca and the Penang Bridge lit up in the distance.
The 3-attraction pass (Rainbow Skywalk, observatory deck and sky bridge) starts from about RM38 and gives you enough time to see the view from multiple angles. On public and school holidays, hours shift to 10 am to 10 pm. Collect your wristband at the counter on level 6 before heading up. The evening slot between 7 and 9 pm tends to be less crowded than sunset hour.

The 360-degree view from the 68th floor is stunning. We went up in the late afternoon and watched George Town transform from daylight to a sea of twinkling lights. The transparent glass floor of the skywalk is thrilling — you look straight down 249 metres.

The Rainbow Skywalk looks magnificent at night when the coloured lights come on. You can see the Penang Bridge, the harbour, and all the way to the mainland. Shoe covers are provided since the floor is glass. Well worth the ticket price.

The Observatory Deck on the 65th floor is air-conditioned and also has a glass walkway. Good option if the weather is windy on the open rooftop. We grabbed drinks at the restaurant up top and enjoyed the panoramic city view at night.

Best strategy is to come just before sunset so you get both the daytime and night panorama. On a clear day you can see all of Penang island from up here. The All Day Fun Pass lets you leave and come back, which is handy.
