About ICC Pudu
ICC Pudu (Integrated Commercial Complex) is a multi-storey building in the Pudu neighbourhood that houses a wet market and a sprawling food court with over 260 hawker stalls. The vendors relocated here from the old Imbi wet market in 2016, bringing decades of recipes and loyal customers with them.
This is a locals-first breakfast destination. The most popular stalls sell out before noon, so arriving by 8 am is wise. Highlights include traditional chee cheong fun, curry yong tau foo, crispy popiah, Hainanese coffee and tea, Nyonya kuih and charcoal egg tarts. Most plates cost RM5 to RM12. The market is closed on Mondays. Cash is king here, and the atmosphere is no-frills wet-market energy. The nearest rail station is Pudu LRT, about a 10-minute walk. A Grab ride from Bukit Bintang costs under RM10. If you only have one morning for local breakfast, this is where locals would send you.

Arrived at 7 am and went straight for the curry yong tau foo stall on the second floor. The tofu puffs were stuffed with fish paste and the curry broth had real depth. Paired it with a plate of chee cheong fun drizzled in sweet sauce and sesame seeds. Total bill was RM9.

The charcoal egg tarts here are worth the trip alone — flaky pastry and a slightly caramelised custard centre. I also grabbed a crispy popiah from the stall near the wet market entrance. Be prepared for the no-frills atmosphere, but that is part of the charm.

Best pan mee in KL, full stop. The handmade noodles were springy and the anchovy broth was rich without being salty. The ikan bilis on top were fried perfectly crisp. RM8 for a bowl this good is hard to beat anywhere in the city.

My go-to breakfast spot in Pudu. The Hainanese coffee stall on the ground floor pulls a proper kopi-o that is thick and aromatic. I pair it with the Nyonya kuih — the kuih talam and ondeh-ondeh are always fresh. Get there before 9 am or the good kuih sells out.

Came for the curry mee and was not disappointed — the coconut-based broth had a slow-building heat and the cockles were plump. Finding a seat during peak hours can be a challenge and the building is not air-conditioned. Bring cash, not all stalls accept e-wallets.
