For now, photograph the tower from the outside at Stadium Merdeka or from Merdeka Square. If the observation deck has opened by the time you visit, expect ticket prices around RM100-150 for non-Malaysians based on comparable towers in the region.
12:30 pm -- Walk 10 minutes to Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara, two historic venues from Malaysia's independence era. The neighbourhood around Jalan Hang Jebat has several old-school coffee shops.
1:30 pm -- Lunch in the Pudu and Imbi area. Walk or Grab to Restoran Kin Kin on Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman for their famous chilli pan mee (RM9-12, queue for 15-20 minutes). Alternatively, head back to ICC Pudu if you want a second round of hawker food before the 2 pm closing time.

Swap-ins If It Rains
Day 1 (KLCC): Extra time in Suria KLCC, Petrosains (RM30) or Aquaria KLCC (RM69 adults). All indoor and air-conditioned.
Day 2 (Batu Caves): The 272 steps get slippery in heavy rain. Swap for the Islamic Arts Museum near KL Sentral (RM20, closed Mondays). Chinatown afternoon works rain or shine: Central Market and Petaling Street are covered.
Day 3 (Perdana Gardens and TREC): Replace the garden walk with National Textile Museum opposite Merdeka Square (free entry) and a longer session at the National Museum. ICC Pudu and TREC nightlife are unaffected by rain.
Day 4 (Kampung Baru and Thean Hou): Skip the Kampung Baru walk and head straight to Thean Hou Temple (covered halls). Swap Bangsar cafe walk for Pavilion KL or Mid Valley Megamall for indoor dining.
If You Have an Extra Day
Five days opens up a day trip to Putrajaya (30 minutes by KLIA Transit from KL Sentral, RM14 one way). Visit the Pink Mosque (Masjid Putra), the Iron Mosque (Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque) and cruise Putrajaya Lake (RM50 per person). Alternatively, ride the Genting Skyway cable car to Genting Highlands (1 hour from KL by bus, cable car RM10 one way) for the cooler mountain air and the SkyWorlds theme park (from RM105 adults).
KL 4D3N Itinerary: Frequently Asked Questions
Is 4 days enough for Kuala Lumpur?
Four days is generous for KL. You cover every major attraction -- Petronas Towers, Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, Chinatown, Thean Hou Temple -- and still have time for Perdana Botanical Gardens, Pudu hawker food, Merdeka 118 and a proper night out at TREC or Changkat. It also leaves breathing room to revisit a favourite food spot or add a half-day trip to Putrajaya.
Is Merdeka 118 observation deck open in 2026?
As of October 2026, the observation deck at Merdeka 118, called The View at 118, has not yet opened to the public and does not sell tickets. The 118 Mall at the tower base is scheduled to open around November 2026, and the observation deck is expected to follow shortly after. Check the official Merdeka 118 website for the latest opening date. In the meantime, admire the 678.9-metre tower from the outside at Merdeka Square or Stadium Merdeka.
What should I eat at ICC Pudu?
ICC Pudu houses over 260 stalls serving Malaysian-Chinese hawker food. Standouts include Ah Weng Kor Hainanese coffee with kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs, Kuan Ji three-layer fried rice cakes, crispy popiah, curry yong tau fu and Hokkien prawn mee. The market opens 6 am to 2 pm daily except Mondays. Arrive before 9 am for the widest selection.
How do I get to TREC KL for nightlife?
TREC is on Jalan Tun Razak, a 5-minute Grab ride from Bukit Bintang (RM8-12). The nearest rail station is Tun Razak Exchange on the MRT Putrajaya Line, a short walk from the complex. Zouk KL is the headline club. Most venues open from 10 pm and charge RM30-60 cover on weekends, usually including one drink.
